De Helderse Vallei, 1783 Den Helder
De Helderse Vallei is a nature and environmental education centre along the dune edge of Den Helder. It lies between the forest Donkere Duinen and nature reserve de Helderse Duinen and is the gateway to the recreational area Mariëndal. Next to the visitor centre is an open-air theatre, a watchtower, Eko-Klimparcours De KlimVallei, a petting farm and a large car park.
You can get a breath of fresh air on the beach even if you are disabled! Borrow the beach wheelchair free of charge in low season (in high season the chair can be borrowed on the beach). Ask at the counter in the visitor centre for information on the loan conditions.
All facilities, with the exception of The Climbing Valley, are accessible free of charge.
